A skirting board, like any other piece of furniture, requires routine cleaning to avoid seeming worn out, old, or, worst of all, dirty. Whether they’re constructed of mahogany, solid wood, or another material, they’ll all need to be cleaned on a regular basis to keep them looking fantastic and in good working order.

All of the supplies you’ll need for the job are readily available in most homes. Cleaning skirting boards is a relatively simple task.

Cleaning gloves, liquid dish soap, vinegar, a pail filled with lukewarm water, a sponge or soft cloth, and a towel or drying sheets are all required. A duster, a soft bristle brush, or a vacuum with interchangeable brushes can all be used to dust.

You won’t need chemicals or heavy-duty cleaning products, as you can see, especially if it’s only a maintenance clean-up! If necessary, a multi-surface cleaning can be used; always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

How to Clean Your Skirting Boards Quickly and Effortlessly

After dusting, any light stains caused by spills, scuffs, dirt build-up, or lack of upkeep can be quickly removed with a simple soap and water solution. Simply:

  • Soak a cleaning cloth in warm soapy water for a few minutes.
  • Remove the extra water from the fabric by wringing it out.
  • Apply pressure as you wipe clean the surface.
